Franjieh asks Aoun to replace Abi Nasr with Boueiz – Syrian request
An anonymous source told NOW Lebanon on Wednesday that Marada Movement leader Sleiman Franjieh informed Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun that Syrian authorities want Aoun to include former minister Fares Boueiz instead of MP Nematallah Abi Nasr in the formation of his electoral list in the Kesrouan district.
The source added that as a result, Abi Nasr would be assigned as a minister in the future cabinet.
The source also said that this was the real reason behind the postponed announcement of the list in Kesrouan, which had previously been scheduled for Wednesday.
Aoun promised Franjieh that he would study the Syrian proposal if the “national interest of the opposition necessitates this step,” according to the source.
