Lebanese Forces in a statement deny Kouyoumjian’s withdrawal in Beirut I
The Lebanese Forces media office denied in a statement issued on Thursday reports published in Al-Hayat newspaper’s Thursday edition, which claimed Future Movement leader MP Saad Hariri and Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea agreed during their meeting on Tuesday night in Qoreitem to withdraw LF’s candidate Richard Kouyoumjian’s candidacy in favor of Henshag’s candidate Serge Torsarkissian in the Beirut I district.
Torsarkissian is expected to join a Christian parliamentary bloc formed mainly of LF and independent MPs following the upcoming parliamentary elections, Al-Hayat newspaper punlished.
The Lebanese Forces confirmed that Kouyoumjian did not withdraw his candidacy.
