Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem reiterated Thursday that the Special Tribunal for Lebanon is a "Lebanese issue."
"Syria has nothing to do with it (STL) and will not interfere," Muallem said in response to reporters” questions during a press conference in Damascus regarding the release of the four Lebanese generals.
The four generals — former head of the presidential guard, Mustafa Hamdan, security services director Jamil Sayyed, security chief Ali Hajj, and military intelligence chief Raymond Azar –were released April 29 from nearly four years in custody in Lebanon without charge.
