MP Harb: Only LAF protect Lebanese, Zahra: Three-way power sharing rejected
MP Boutros Harb and Lebanese Forces MP Antoine Zahra met with Kataeb party campaign staff in the Batroun district on Saturday.
Harb said the March 14 alliance’s agenda was based on its support of a free, independent, sovereign and democratic state and he called on the Lebanese people to make their own decisions without foreign interference.
He added that voters would choose between restricting arms to legitimate military institutions, which he said protected and defended the people, or armed military groups that could decide to drag Lebanon into war anytime they wanted.
In turn, Zahra called for ensuring balance and partnership, supporting the Taif Accord and rejecting three-way power-sharing between Shia, Sunnis and Christians instead of equally between Christians and Muslims.
He also called for ensuring peace and stability.
