Syrian Intelligence Interfering in Lebanon Polls
Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea accused on Wednesday the Syrian intelligence of interfering in the upcoming parliamentary elections in Lebanon.
"The Syrian intelligence is visiting Syrians who were given the Lebanese nationality and are residing in Syria," Geagea told LF officials during an electoral meeting in Maarab.
"Such intelligence cannot but to practice its favorite hobby particularly since it doesn”t have the capacity to practice it in Lebanon," Geagea said.
He accused the Syrian intelligence of seeking to transport those with Lebanese nationalities to Lebanon to vote in the June 7 elections.
Such a practice gives an idea of "the extent of interferences in the polls given their importance," he said.
