Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic Sheikh Mohammad Rashid Qabbani said during Friday prayers that Lebanon will not abandon the division of shares equally between Christians and Muslims, as stated in the Taif Accord.
He called for fully implementing the Taif, and for appointing the five remaining members of the Constitutional Council to avoid an escalation of conflicts that might occur after the forthcoming parliamentary elections.
