Kesrouan List Incomplete and Postponed Once Again
The announcing of a joint Kesrouan electoral list between independent candidates and March 14 forces was postponed on Tuesday to next week Saout al-Ghad radio said on Tuesday.
The list remains incomplete, according to daily the daily An Nahar.
It cited failure to reach consensus on a final political and electoral statement as reason for the incompletion of the ticket.
An Nahar said a meeting between Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea and candidates Carlos Edde and Sejaan Azzi to declare a "complete list" that would include the independent alliance as well as the March 14 coalition did not reach agreement over the final statement.
Contacts, however, were underway to settle the issue, it said.
As Safir, for its part, said Phalange Party leader Amin Gemayel "devoted a long evening session" with MP Saad Hariri to discuss the Kesrouan issue.
It said Edde has chosen Kesrouan "specifically" to face up to Gen. Michel Aoun.
The daily Al Liwaa, meanwhile, said the Kesrouan list which already includes Mansour al-Bon, Fares Boueiz and Farid Haykal is also likely to take in Edde and Phalange candidate Sejaan Azzi.
Kesrouan sources, on the other hand, told Al Liwaa that the ticket could be restricted to three independent candidates.
Lebanese Forces sources, however, affirmed that the Kesrouan and the Beirut 1 lists would be complete before Thursday.
