Police chief Gen. Ashraf Rifi noted the return of one robbery gang to action in the Bekaa region after a long period of calm following the crackdown on theft rings.
In an interview with the daily Al Akhbar published Thursday, Rifi said the robbers steal old cars and then they use them to rob new vehicles at gunpoint.
Rifi uncovered that security forces have arrested an Iraqi citizen in Mount Lebanon in the last 48 hours.
He said the Iraqi was the most-wanted suspect in car theft.
