Two elections watchdog groups will meet Sunday to unveil the technology they plan to use on June 7, along with their "every citizen is a monitor" strategy.
The Lebanese Association for Democratic Elections and the Lebanese Alliance for Election Monitoring will coordinate their efforts at 1 p.m. at Sanayeh Park.
The group”s monitoring officials, who include coordinators and volunteers for each of Lebanon”s 26 electoral districts, will gather to conduct a test of a special text messaging system that they intend to use to communicate with each other, and report on electoral infractions. The two groups will also unveil an advertising campaign, "every citizen is a monitor," to encourage the general public to get involved in the effort.
