Suleiman to Call for Calm during 7th Dialogue Session

President Michel Suleiman will head on Monday the seventh and last national dialogue session before the June 7 parliamentary elections.

Media reports said Suleiman will urge the 14 dialogue leaders to adopt calm political rhetoric and to make sure there is a peaceful atmosphere in the week before the elections.

Speaker Nabih Berri stressed to As Safir newspaper that "dialogue is necessary at all times and is useful for the country under any circumstance, particularly that it reduces the gap between all Lebanese."

He said he supported continued dialogue among the Lebanese in the upcoming stage as decided by the president.

Hizbullah MP Mohammed Raad also told As Safir that he will take part in Monday”s session by insisting on calling for calm and tension-free elections.

He stressed that Hizbullah doesn”t believe Monday”s session will be the last, adding that the party supports resumption of all-party talks after the elections in order to reach a decision that reassures the Lebanese about their country”s ability to defend them from any possible Israeli aggression.
