First Firefighting Helicopter Arrives in Beirut
The interior ministry announced that the first Sikorsky helicopter to fight fires arrived in Beirut and a ceremony will be held on the occasion at Beirut airport on Tuesday.
Interior Minister Ziad Baroud and a delegation from Akhdar Dayem association will then fly to Baabda palace to hand over the helicopter”s key to President Michel Suleiman on the first anniversary of his election.
Lebanon bought three helicopters through funds from the private sector and civil society.
