Telecommunications Minister Gebran Basil said voters had apparently been duped by warnings that the Hizbullah-led coalition would impose an Islamist regime in Lebanon if it won parliamentary elecitons.
"Unfortunately, I tried to explain to people that everyone won”t be wearing the chador and that we won”t have an Islamist republic (but they didn”t listen)," said Bassil who lost a seat in the new parliament.
