U.N. Chief Urges Lebanese to Respect Poll Outcome
U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon urges all Lebanese to respect the results of weekend parliamentary polls won by the March 14 bloc, his press office said Monday.
Ban congratulated the Lebanese and all Lebanese parties on the peaceful conduct of Sunday”s polls and called "on all Lebanese to respect the results and urges them to work together in the spirit of coexistence and democracy," a U.N. statement said.
"The secretary-general hopes that the process of government formation will commence expeditiously and that it will take place in a calm and secure environment," it added.
