U.S. Reactions to Polls Indicate “displeasure” with Support for Resistance
Hizbullah on Tuesday slammed the "flagrant" U.S. interference in Lebanese internal affairs and saw in the American reaction to the poll outcome a "clear message of displeasure" with public support for the resistance.
In a statement, the Lebanese party said: "Hizbullah strongly condemns the United States rude and flagrant interferences in Lebanon”s internal affairs."
The statement said Hizbullah specifically rejects "recent statements by American officials on the poll outcome and the United States attempts to impose its labeling and dictate its rules on the Lebanese."
Hizbullah said the U.S. reaction to the elections "conveys a clear message of displeasure with public rallying around the resistance and its choices."
Such public support, it said, required the U.S. administration to "re-launch its unjust labeling of Hizbullah as a terrorist group and its baseless accusations that (the party) is not abiding by democracy."
Hizbullah reaffirmed that, along with the opposition, it forms "a solid barrier to U.S. plans to incite strife and to Washington”s impudent interferences."
It said the reaction of Hizbullah and the opposition to the outcome of the elections "presents an example to be followed and learned from by Washington and those who call for democracy around the world."
