Elections confirmed majority is not fictitious
Lebanese Forces deputy leader George Adwan said that “in this new stage the majority have proved that it is not a fictitious majority.”
Following a meeting with Prime Minister Fouad Siniora in the Grand Serail on Wednesday, Adwan said, “We will deal with all issues with positivity and openness, because we don’t want the cabinet, the parliament and the institutions to be blocked again.”
He added, “The Lebanese citizen doesn’t want a cabinet with an obstructing third vote, and he doesn’t want the institutions to be hampered, however at the same time he wants to see all the parties as partners.”
On Hezbollah’s weapons, he said, “This issue is being discussed on the dialogue round table, and we want to continue with these discussions, but until we reach a deal the decision of war and peace should be put in the hands of the cabinet.”
Responding to a question about whether they would re-elect Nabih Berri for Speaker, he said “we will not announce any position without studying first the experiments of the past.”
