Ex-MP Maurice Fadel Dies
Former MP Maurice Fadel died on Sunday days before witnessing his son Robert attend the first parliament session after his election as Tripoli lawmaker for the Orthodox seat during the June 7 polls.
Fadel was born in 1928 in the northern port city of Tripoli and was elected MP in 1972, 1996, 2000, and 2005.
He is survived by wife Diana Sfeir and children, Habib, Robert, Karim and Rony.
The former MP will be buried in Deir Mar Yacoub in Koura on Tuesday after funeral processions at Saint George cathedral in Tripoli”s Zahriyeh area.
