No to Veto Power, Berri”s Election Awaits News on Guarantees
Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said he rejects giving the opposition veto power in the new government.
In remarks published by the daily An Nahar on Thursday, Geagea said there were "not too many options with regards to the issue of electing a speaker."
He admitted that March 14 forces were split between those in favor and those opposed to Berri”s re-election.
He said Christian leaders from the parliamentary majority March 14 coalition demand guarantees that Berri would not shut parliament doors under any circumstances.
