Lebanese Forces Prepared and Open to Meet with All

Lebanese Forces MP George Adwan said that without dialogue there is no possibility of state-building, in an interview with Ad-Diyar newspaper published on Sunday. He said that Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea is willing to meet with Hezbollah’s Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and leaders of all other parties.

Adwan said the Shia sect comprises a fundamental component of Lebanese society. “National partnership requires the representation of this component. If we want to be realistic in implementing Lebanon’s existing plurality, then this issue should be considered,” he said.

He also said that the Lebanese Forces is willing to give President Michel Sleiman the final say in all important issues. He added that the most acceptable structure for the cabinet would be for the majority to have 16 cabinet seats, the opposition to have 10 seats and the president to have four.

Adwan said that a meeting between Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt and Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun is welcomed and serves Lebanon’s interests.

Adwan also said that the Lebanese Forces is still willing to meet with Marada Movement leader MP Sleiman Franjieh, whenever Franjieh wants, with no preconditions.
