The Maronite Church on Wednesday called for facilitating the formation of a government that will "run the country firmly and wisely."
It also hoped the new government would be able to rescue Lebanon from "fragmentation."
The church, in a statement issued by the Council of Maronite Bishops after their monthly meeting, thanked God that single-day parliamentary elections ended peacefully.
The Bishops hoped for a "promising summer season."
