Sikorsky Helicopter in Service
A Sikorsky firefighting helicopter, which was delivered to Lebanon two weeks ago, was used for the first time to extinguish a fire in Qmatiyeh near the mountain resort town of Aley.
The interior ministry announced on Thursday that the chopper used 4000 liters of water to put off the blaze in orchards between the towns of Qmatiyeh and Bmekkin.
Lebanon has received three Sikorsky helicopters.
