Central Security Council Bans Gunfire Approves Security Plan for Tourist Season
Lebanon”s Central Security Council (CSC) fully banned gunfire during political, religious and social events.
Tuesday”s decision aims to put an end to recent gunfire incidents that resulted in injuries and deaths. Security forces are continuing to seek those responsible for such incidents.
The council also approved a confidential security plan for the 2009 tourist season. Lebanon is witnessing a growing number of tourist influx this year.
Interior Minister Ziad Baroud chaired the CSC meeting on Tuesday, as the Council approved strengthening military and security visibility in sensitive areas that witnessed recent tensions.
The CSC paid tribute to Internal Security Forces” efforts that lead to arresting a vehicle heisting gang in the Bekka.
