Bellemare in Canada for Treatment
Special Tribunal for Lebanon Prosecutor Daniel Bellemare headed to Canada for medical treatment, a statement from his office said.
"During his leave in Canada, Prosecutor Daniel A. Bellemare will receive some medical treatment for a few weeks," his office announced.
"Although away from the office, he will not be away from the issues. He will maintain daily contacts with his office in The Hague and will continue to monitor the work of his team and provide leadership and advice to his staff on the ground both in The Hague and in Beirut," it added.
"The investigation is progressing and the Prosecutor intends to ensure that the pace of the investigation is not only maintained, but is also increased during his absence," the statement said.
