Lebanon can be only ruled through consensus
Former Prime Minister Najib Mikati said Thursday that Lebanon could only be ruled through national consensus. Mikati stressed that the upcoming national-unity cabinet “should be formed without granting any group veto power; however, no party should take exclusive control of decision making.”
Following talks with the Maronite patriarch in Diman, Mikati said Lebanon’s Arab neighbors had either constructive or negative impact on the country. Mikati, who was re-elected to his seat in Tripoli last month, expressed hope that a national unity government would be formed quickly.
