The "LFSA" contributes in the Diplomacy gathering at the council of Europe in Strasbourg
A joint delegation from the Public Relations & Foreign Affairs department and the North sector in the Lebanese Forces Students Association (LFSA) participated in a 7-days study session organized by DEMYC at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, France – home of one of the two European Parliaments. Thirty young politicians, from the Lebanese Forces Party and like-minded Christian-Democratic, Conservative parties and NGOs from all corners of Europe took part in an event titled "Civil society for peace diplomacy – The role of civil society in peace building and intercultural dialogue".
The participants explored the true understanding of peace in all its layers in daily multiple sessions and debates given by professional speakers and human rights activists, they also learned how to develop and manage campaigns related to peace building and each group drafted and presented future cooperative projects.
Exclusive visits were also made to the European Parliament, Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and learned how those institutions function. The event also included sight-seeing of the amazing Cathedral, Petite-France and Boat trip around the city, also included an international evening where each delegation presented their culture and traditions to the other participants.
