Young Man Killed in Quarrel in Qaroun
An argument between a group of young men in the town of Qaroun in the Western Bekaa Valley overnight Wednesday ended in a shootout that left one person killed.
Police identified the victim as Hamzeh Qassem al-Kharfan who was killed in the shootout that followed a quarrel between Qassem Jebara on one hand and Ali and Mohammed Hatem as well as Ali al-Gharnaki on the other hand.
They said the disagreement quickly spilled out of hand when Sari Salim Haimour and another man from the Qarouni family opened fire on Kharfan, hitting him with two bullets to his head and chest.
Kharfan was taken to Farhat hospital in Kamed al-Lawz, where he soon died from his wounds.
Local media on Thursday said police launched a manhunt to arrest those involved in the shooting.
