Malaysia is set to sell Lebanon military equipment next year as part of efforts to modernize the Lebanese Armed Forces, the Malaysian defense minister has said.
Malaysia”s Bernama news agency reported Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as telling reporters Friday that Lebanese Defense Minister committed to the deal after meeting him in Beirut earlier that day.
"Military assets produced by Malaysia have been tested and found suitable for use by the Lebanese Armed Forces as they suit the climate" in Lebanon, Zahid was quoted as saying. The sales will comprise ordinary military equipment and not include any offensive weapons, he added.
