Report: Israel for Quick Shebaa, Ghajar Solutions to Ward Off Hizbullah Threat
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly instructed Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman to come up with solutions to solve the Shebaa farms and the border town of Ghajar issues.
LBC TV said that Netanyahu told Lieberman to make the suggestions on both issues in the next couple of weeks in a way that a possible Israeli withdrawal from both areas wouldn”t be explained as a Hizbullah victory.
Lieberman kicks off a 10-day tour to key Latin American states on Monday.
The Israeli premier intends to present the suggestions to U.S. President Barak Obama in his efforts to find solutions to the Middle East crisis, the TV station said.
Yediot Ahronot daily also urged Netanyahu in an article published on Monday to solve the Shebaa and Ghajar issues with Lebanese PM-designate Saad Hariri in a peaceful manner in order to avoid Hizbullah rockets.
Meanwhile, sources close to Hizbullah told Kuwaiti al-Watan newspaper that the party has doubled its security measures since June and put its fighters on alert.
LBC also said that the Jewish state was on high alert along the border with Lebanon, in particular after the explosion of the Hizbullah arms depot in Khirbet Selm.
