Exceptional Measures are uncalled for at the Moment
Justice Minister Ibrahim Najjar said on Wednesday that he does not think there is anything urgent that calls for taking exceptional measures at the moment.
The delay in the cabinet formation makes it difficult to implement justice, Najjar said, adding, “The cabinet’s caretaking period is not the time for taking initiatives, making official decisions or proposing new laws. According to the constitution, the outgoing government is reserved for urgent and necessary issues.”
Najjar also said that the paradox between the exceptionally high number of tourists and the “political relaxation” in Lebanon is remarkable. “Lebanon is a country of wonders, which would hopefully persist after the completion of anticipated political achievements, such as the cabinet formation, in the near future,” he added.
