Maronite League is Fostering Reconciliation Conditions
Lebanese Forces bloc MP Antoine Zahra told the Voice of Lebanon radio station on Thursday that the political committee within the Maronite League is scheduled to meet in an attempt to foster conditions favorable for a meeting between LF leader Samir Geagea and Marada Movement leader MP Sleiman Franjieh.
“The Maronite League is trying to promote a positive atmosphere between Christians as well as respect for Bkirki’s authority,” Zahra said, referring to Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir.
He also emphasized the necessity of resolving political disagreements through dialogue and stressed that communication channels between the LF and the Free Patriotic Movement “are not cut off, however, the two parties have different political points of view.”
