Majority Meeting will Reflect Election Victory
During a telephone interview with Future News on Sunday, Lebanese Forces MP George Adwan said the meeting of majority members of parliament that will be held Monday “will prove that the majority still represents the majority of the Lebanese people who voted for it on June 7.”
Adwan said that the meeting will send a message to the opposition that “although the majority has been extending its hand to the minority since the elections in order to strengthen the domestic situation, this does not negate the fact that it is still the majority and it does not snuff out its June 7 victory.”
Adwan called for committing to and implementing the Lebanese constitution, and adhering to the equal division of power between Christians and Muslims that the constitution enshrined after the 1975-1991 Civil War to ensure unity among Lebanese people.
