Lebanon to abandon swine flu running tally
Health Minister Mohammad Jawad Khalifeh told As-Safir newspaper in comments published on Monday that Lebanon, like all other countries, will no longer continue to keep track of the number of individuals diagnosed with swine flu.
Keeping a count “is useless and it is very expensive to test 3 million people for A(H1N1), especially since the tests will not prevent the virus from spreading,” he said. Khalifeh added that precautions adopted by his ministry follow the instructions issued by the World Health Organization.
