Lebanese, Israeli, UNIFIL forces to meet in Naqoura
A Lebanese-Israeli military meeting is to be held on Wednesday at the southern border town of Naqoura under the care of the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
The meeting will take place at 10 a.m. at a UNIFIL military location and will aim at discussing controversial issues related to the enforcement of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which put an end to the summer 2006 war with Israel. The issues to be tackled during the meeting are those mentioned in the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1884, which extends the mandate of UNIFIL for one year until August 31, 2010. Meanwhile, UNIFIL and the Lebanese Army will hold joint maneuvers on Thursday.
