Hariri Confirms Holding on to the PM-Designate”s Powers Given by the Constitution
PM-designate Saad Hariri said that he "will not yield to blackmail," and will stick to the "formation of a Cabinet that will reflect the majority” as it won 2009 elections. Then he stated that he "will take important steps in the coming three days" in what he sees to be "in the interest of the country".
In Qoraitem”s Iftar, Hariri vowed that he will firmly hold on to "the PM-designate”s powers given by the Constitution," and confirmed his "stubborn" adherence to the principles of the 14 March alliance and to "Lebanon”s sovereignty and independence."
He concluded that the Special Tribunal for Lebanon will reach its verdict and Rafik Hariri”s murderers will be brought to justice.
