LF will Nominate Hariri again
After meeting with Beirut”s Greek Orthodox Archbishop Elias Audi on Friday, Lebanese Forces member Joe Sarkis said that the LF will nominate Future Movement leader MP Saad Hariri following the second round of parliamentary consultations.
He added that “the party that refused to take part in the new cabinet” caused the impasse, a possible reference to the Change and Reform bloc, which demanded the Interior Ministry and the reappointment of Telecommunications Minister Gebran Bassil.
Sarkis voiced hope that Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt would successfully facilitate the cabinet formation. He also said that he supports attempts to “convince” the opposition to participate in the new government.
