The Development and Liberation bloc on Monday rejected what it called "threats" by MP Saad Hariri and said it would take its time before deciding on a name for the premier”s post.
"The bloc, which rejects threats, decided to be prudent before naming anyone to form the cabinet," it said following a meeting headed by Speaker Nabih Berri in Ain el-Tineh.
During an iftar on Sunday, parliamentary majority leader Hariri said he would deal "likewise" with those who do not support his re-appointment as premier-designate and warned that he will reject demands imposed on him by force.
Berri”s bloc also said Monday that it would take its time to name the prime minister pending a "clear stance" on Hariri”s "commitment to a national unity cabinet based on the 15-10-5 formula."
The statement added that Hariri”s threat to deal "likewise" with the other side means he rejects the formation of a unity government.
