On Suleiman”s Agenda with Mitchell: Refusal of Palestinian Naturalization and Negotiations with Israelis
U.S. Special envoy to the Mideast George Mitchell will meet President Suleiman Wednesday evening. Suleiman will confirm the Lebanese unanimous refusal of the Palestinian naturalization as well as the official non-participation in the Israeli negociations.
Informed diplomatic sources said that the official Lebanese position that will be conveyed to Michell stresses on "the refusal of the Palestinian naturalization by all Lebanese political parties and on the basis of the State Constitution."
The same sources stated that President Suleiman will reiterate "Lebanon”s refusal to join the negotiations with Israel before they are achieved on both the Palestinian-Israeli as well as the Syrian-Israeli levels."
From his end, Mitchell will inform the Presidents about the results of his talks with the Palestinians and the Israeli officials regarding the settlements building procedures.
Furthermore Suleiman will renew Lebanon”s demand from the American Administration to exercise all what is in its power for a prompt Israeli withdrawal from the Lebanese occupied lands of Kafarshuba , Shibaa Farms and the Northern part of Ghajar village.
