On President Suleiman NY Agenda: Lobbying for Lebanon”s presence in U.N Security Council
President Michel Suleiman met Wednesday in New York Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem.
The election of Lebanon as a non-permanent member of the U.N. Security Council was among the issues discussed during the meeting.
At the end of the encounter, Muallem stressed on the importance of supporting Lebanon as a non-permanent member of the Security Council and considered it "a positive" step that will benefit the Arab countries” interests and causes.
Suleiman concentrated his activities on lobbying the maximum backing for Lebanon”s non-permanent membership in the U.N Security Council that will extent till 2011. He held meetings with Albania and Cyprus presidents as well as with Kuwait PM.
