Differences between Majority & Opposition must be Resolved
Following a meeting between Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri and the Lebanese Forces bloc at Nejmeh Square on Friday, LF bloc MP George Adwan said that the differences between the majority and the opposition are obstructing the cabinet formation and must be resolved as soon as possible. He called for setting a time table to resolve all issues discussed during the national dialogue sessions.
Adwan warned against “serious” challenges facing Lebanon, saying they will only be resolved through honest dialogue between all parties. He stressed that the cabinet-formation crisis is not just a result of the disputed ministerial portfolios, although he did not elaborate further.
“Lebanese want a government that would tackle problems as well as the people’s daily concerns,” said Adwan, adding that the new cabinet should be in line with the constitution and reflect the 2009 parliamentary election results.
