Assad to take back Golan at any cost – Wahhab
Former Minister Wiam Wahhab told a meeting of Druze religious dignitaries at the Mount Hermon village of Makarr al-Mir Saturday that Syrian President Bashar Assad had made up his mind to restore the Israeli occupied Golan Heights to Syrian sovereignty.
It was only a question of time before the Golan was liberated, said Wahhab, adding that in the event of the failure of diplomatic efforts, Assad’s decision would be implemented at any price. He did not rule out the use of force. About 500 dignitaries from the Druze communities of Lebanon, Syria, Palestine and elsewhere attended the meeting.
Quoting Hizbullah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Wahhab said times of defeat were gone and victory was at hand in Palestine, Lebanon and Iraq.
