Geagea’s Speech has No Negative Consequences
March 14 General Secretariat Coordinator Fares Soueid told Future News on Monday that Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea’s speech during the Martyrs of the Lebanese Resistance event on Saturday will not negatively affect any party’s relationship with any other. He added that the speech was “in its place” in light of the challenges facing the country.
Soueid described Geagea’s speech as “rational and direct.” He said it was a clear message to the Shia community, especially Hezbollah, and called on them to be involved in the next cabinet.
“The strong tone taken by some Hezbollah MPs, in particular Loyalty to the Resistance MP Nawwaf Moussawi, proves we are still at square one in the cabinet-formation process,” added Soueid.
Soueid voiced hope that a rapprochement between Saudi Arabia and Syria will have a positive effect on the government formation.
