2 Wanted Men Killed in Exchange of Fire with Lebanese Troops
Tension prevailed in the Bekaa Valley town of Majdal Anjar on Wednesday following a shootout that left two wanted men killed and a Lebanese soldier wounded.
The fatalities were identified as Ammar Mohammed Hussein and Ali Mohammed Bou Abbas.
A Lebanese army communiqué said Hussein and Bou Abbas were killed during an exchange of fire with Lebanese troops who were on a mission to raid houses of those wanted in attacks on security personnel.
The statement said the men opened fire first on Lebanese troops, wounding one soldier. It said troops returned fire, killing Hussein and Bou Abbas.
