LF Presses Lawsuit Against Yackoub for Militants Training Accusations
The Lebanese Forces pressed a lawsuit Tuesday against ex-MP Hassan Yackoub after his accusations to the LF of training militants in Zahle. The lawsuit claimed 10 billion Lebanese Pounds as a compensation for reputation damage.
"After each accomplished victory, the LF party is being a target for those with vicious intentions who consist echoes for their masters beyond the borders. The Syrian al-Watan newspaper unleashed lately the starting whistle for those, the thing that lead ex-MP Yackoub to accuse the party of holding military exercises in Zahle and to accuse the LF leader Samir Geagea of seeking clashes, aiming to eliminate political rivals, and stirring strife.", said a statement for the legal committee of the LF.
The statement added that after the LF denied those accusations, ex-MP Yackoub challenged the party to press charges in court, the thing that led the LF to file a lawsuit and to claim financial compensations worth of 10 billion Lebanese Pounds.
Previously, Yackoub claimed that LF members were training in Zahle on light and medium arms.
