Ain el-Rummaneh Incident: Sectarian Blocs Protecting Perpetrators
A high-ranking Lebanese security official has warned of the repercussions and the timing of the Ain el-Rummander incident "which could be detrimental to any political understanding for the benefit of those who do not want to lay the foundations for civil peace in Beirut."
The official, however, ruled out that "repercussions threaten civil peace during the current phase," without playing down the repercussions of the Ain el-Rummaneh mishap that left a 30-year-old man killed and five others wounded.
In remarks published Thursday by pan-Arab Asharq al-Awsat, the security official pointed to "sectarian blocs that protect the perpetrators.
