We Won”t Delay Cabinet Formation over Elections Losers Issue
Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said Wednesday that his party will not delay the formation of the anticipated cabinet over the issue of appointing elections losers as ministers. He added that he does not insist on a specific portfolio.
"There is some breakthrough somewhere regarding cabinet formation, but things have not come to a happy ending yet," added Geagea.
Geagea was speaking after receiving the Sudanese ambassador where he said that the recent breakthrough may lead to forming the new cabinet soon.
Geagea added: "Appointing elections losers was never an issue for us, nor an obstacle. However, we said that, in principle, that was not appropriate."
Geagea concluded that the opposition”s gains in all the proposed recent cabinet lineups will be less than its supposed gains in the first lineup presented by PM-designate Saad Hariri.
