Optimism by Opposition was “Fake Manoeuvre”
In an interview with As-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper published Friday, Lebanese Forces bloc MP Antoine Zahra said some members of the opposition are making demands on President Michel Sleiman and Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri concerning the cabinet line-up. He added optimism shown by the opposition in recent days was a manoeuvre to give the impression they wanted to find a solution to the cabinet impasse and “to make the majority look like it is complicating the negotiations.”
He also told the daily that despite the Saudi-Syrian summit and its positive implications on Lebanon, “we will still witness obstacles, because of Iran’s dialogue with the international community on its nuclear drive.”
