Cabinet will be formed in spite of Obstruction
Lebanese Forces MP Antoine Zahra told New TV on Saturday that despite the ongoing attempts to disregard the outcome of the parliamentary elections, the cabinet formation will not be obstructed. He said that “there is no problem in reappointing Telecommunications Minister Gebran Basil in the new cabinet in return for appointing MP Boutros Harb as a minister.”
Zahra said that there is an agreement concerning the cabinet line-up, adding that the parliamentary commissions have been settled according to political and sectarian distribution.
He added that the Saudi-Syrian talks did not assist in resolving the impasse in Lebanon. He also pointed out that the obstacles placed by the Free Patriotic Movement in forming the cabinet are only “a cover-up” for its regional interests.
