Parliament Renews Mandate for Bureau Board, Meeting between Berri, Saniora, Hariri
A meeting was held in Parliament on Tuesday between Speaker Nabih Berri, Caretaker Prime Minister Fouad Saniora and Premier-designate Saad Hariri to discuss the latest developments regarding government formation.
Saniora told reports as he left the tripartite meeting that the "atmosphere was very positive."
Also Tuesday, Parliament renewed the mandate for the bureau board during a session held in Nejmeh Square under Berri. The session was attended by Saniora and Hariri.
MPs Marwan Hamadeh and Antoine Zahra retained their posts as Parliament Secretaries, while Serge Tor Sarkissian, Michel Moussa and Ahmed Fatfat also kept their posts as Parliament emissaries.
At a meeting held in Parliament last Friday, MPs decided to postpone the election of committee members until after a new government has been formed.
