Balance Required in Appointments
Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir reiterated Thursday that national needs should be taken into account through the achievement of balance in the proposed appointments to Beirut Municipality and other public departments.
Sfeir”s stance came during talks with Acting Beirut Governor Nassif Qaloush on the issue of Beirut Municipality appointments and the problem raised due to the lack of sectarian balance in the proposed employment preparations.
Qaloush put Sfeir in the picture of contacts undertaken by PM-designate Saad Hariri with regards to settling the issue.
