Aoun Demands Economy Ministry, Bassil Keeps His Post
Free Patriotic Movement leader Michel Aoun has reportedly set new conditions for the formation of a national unity government.
News reports on Wednesday said the obstacle now revolved around the fourth portfolio allocated for Aoun”s Change and Reform bloc after Aoun rejected the education ministry.
They said Aoun now insists on having the economy ministry.
The daily As-Safir, meanwhile, pointed to another knot that is still pending – Aoun”s refusal to let go of the telecoms ministry and insisting that his son-in-law retains his post.
