Sfeir Criticizing Elections: We Saw Winners Lose and Losers Win
Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir has reportedly expressed his resentment at the situation and showed indifference toward the campaigns waged against him following his recent statement.
The daily Ad-Diyar on Wednesday quoted the Patriarch”s visitors as saying that Sfeir criticized those who left a vacuum in parliamentary elections.
"Elections took place and we saw winners lose and losers win," Sfeir reportedly told visitors.
"We ate sweet and drank as if we didn”t eat or drink," he added.
"It”s time to tell the truth, and politicians have to their job," Sfeir said, "He who likes to take in our view is welcome."
